Cooking course

The courses dates and times in 2015:

  • 12th March Thursday     11am – 2pm
  • 26th March Thursday     11am – 2pm
  • 16th April Thursday        11am – 2pm
  • 30th April Thursday       11am – 2pm
  • 15th May Friday               6pm – 9pm
  • 29th May Friday               6pm – 9pm

The cooking course runs for a small group of people in my kitchen.  It is approximately 3 hours including the lunch we’ve just cooked.
Nomally 2 to 3 hands-on recipes are cooked on the day but you will also enjoy elements of Asian lifestyle and health related input.

Typical recipes include some adopted foreign recipes :

  • Sushi all sorts (rolls, inside-out rolls, balls and hand rolls)
  • Tempura prawns and vegetables with dipping sauce
  • Paper wrapped local arctic char and exotic mushroom
  • Local arctic char special Teriyaki
  • Duck Tataki
  • Udon/Soba noodle soup
  • Gyoza dumpling with dipping sauce
  •  Seaweed-cured fish Carpaccio with Ponzu dressing
  • Double-fried chicken Japanese style
  • Chicken Katsu with Panko bread crumbs with home made brown sauce
  • Chawan-mushi  Savoury custard with chicken and prawn
  • Thai curries with Japanese touch!  Yellow, Green and Red curry
  • Thai style Fish cakes
  • Vetnamese fresh spring rolls and sweet chili dipping sauce
  • Fried fresh spring rolls wrapped with lettuce and mint
