Soaking smoked salmon in water with a little salt helps to extract excess salt from the salmon.  I did soak twice this time  for 20 minutes and 10 minutes.  It worked and the taste was much more sutble and less salty.  Use lots of lemon juice and extra virgine olive oil with a dash of Yuzu dressing if any
